Financial Services
Transparency. Accountability. These are the hallmarks of a strong financial system, and these are the capabilities that Lockheed Martin provides our customers in the financial arena. We are helping the IRS transform the way it does business; FTC reduce telemarketing calls; and HUD answer questions about the mortgage process. The result? Over 340,000 tax practitioners use the on-line tools we provide for tax preparation, and we handle over 1 million fraud complaints and 400,000 identity theft complaints from consumers every year for FTC.
Human Capital, Pay and Annuity
From hire to retire, Lockheed Martin is there for our customers to help them manage their workforce and the workforce of our nation. Whether it's developing a fully integrated human resources solution for the Transportation Security Administration or delivering technology solutions that helps the Social Security Administration provide financial protection to 162 million workers and benefits to 60 million Americans, we're at our customers' side giving them the tools and services they need to keep this nation powered.
Homeland Security
Lockheed Martin is helping our customers meet ever changing security threats in the 21st century. We provide the technology that guards borders, integrates threat information and protects critical infrastructures. We are also safeguarding electronic systems that are susceptible to viruses, hacking, and identity and information theft. All to keep America safe and secure.
Human Exploration
To be human is to explore. From the quest to Mars to the far reaches of Antarctica, Lockheed Martin is helping man go further than ever before. For more than 50 years, we have led the way in helping scientists understand our planet from a new perspective. Today we are working with NASA to launch a bold new era of space exploration. Inspiration for the next generation of leaders and discoverers.
Air Traffic Management
Every day across the globe, 60 percent of the world's commercial air traffic and 80 percent of the managed oceanic traffic is supported by Lockheed Martin air traffic control systems. Systems that are powerful, advanced and completely reliable. To meet tomorrow's growth in global travel, we are developing next-generation systems today to modernize airspace management. Our systems offer air traffic controllers flexible routing, collaborative decision-making, conflict resolution tools, and more accurate and timely surveillance information, all of which leads to safer, more efficient skies. From the runway to the tower and from takeoff to touchdown, our systems carry passengers safely through any journey.
Data Capture and Sharing
Whether it is creating an electronic records archive for a national archival institution or helping streamline high-volume document processing to conduct a national census, Lockheed Martin delivers enterprise solutions to help our customers capture, manage and preserve authentic, sustainable digital assets. We bring the right capabilities, partners and technologies together to capture and appropriately share information, while preserving the privacy and security of each individual citizen.
Biometrics
Everything in nature has unique characteristics. Including us. They're called biometrics - those physical characteristics such as fingerprints, palm prints, iris or face - that are distinctive to each individual. And in an increasingly crowded and dynamic world, biometrics can be our greatest protection. For nearly two decades, Lockheed Martin has been a leader in biometrics-based identification and credentialing missions. Whether it's large-scale systems integration, design and development of biometric solutions, or technical evaluations, we've played an active role in programs that are critical to the safety of citizens, the facilitation of commerce, and the security of nations.
Programs
Biometric Experimentation and Advanced Concepts CenterFor nearly two decades, Lockheed Martin has applied passion for invention to the emerging world of biometrics. Our Biometric Experimentation and Advanced Concepts (BEACON) center, located in West Virginia's High Technology Corridor, is both a magnet and a showplace that draws in the brightest minds to demonstrate the most innovative solutions related to biometric identity management. TWICLockheed Martin is the lead contractor on the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)'s Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program, an initiative that involves the rapid, nationwide deployment of biometric identification cards to maritime workers. As part of this effort to make ports safer while still facilitating efficient trade, we've enrolled and credentialed more than one million port workers nationwide. NGIIn 2008, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) awarded Lockheed Martin a ten-year contract potentially worth $1B to develop and maintain the Bureau's Next Generation Identification (NGI) system, a multi-modal, state-of–the-art biometrics system for use by state, local, and federal authorities. The NGI system will expand fingerprint processing capacity and will now also include palm prints, iris and facial recognition capabilities. |
